Foot and Mouth Disease

Owing to the current situation ALL events on country lanes have been postponed.

13th to 15th July is our big event, the Dales Weekend, based at Aysgarth. This will be advertised in the next TR Action. On 4th April there was a case diagnosed in Aysgarth itself, and many others in the immediate area. This is now some time ago and restrictions might have lifted. However, over the last few weeks there has been a whole rash of cases in the Settle area (to the west and south of Aysgarth). These cases are also in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, so expected freeing off of restrictions has not yet taken place. Cases seem to be in decline and the infection period should be over by July, so watch this space for last minute news. I've booked into the Palmer Flatts Hotel in Aysgarth (telephone 01969 663 228) anyway!!

The position with the TR Register International weekend 28-29 July 2001 Malvern is slightly different. It is anticipated that this will still go ahead since there are no infected farms near here. However even here the expectations are that there will NOT be any convoy runs.

Events which are still running

The normal club meetings at Hotham Arms, Hotham, East Yorkshire

The next "Down Your Way" Sunday lunch will be:
Sunday 8th July The Wagon & Horses, South Reston, Lincs (south of Louth) organized by Dave & Maggie Roach. Please let them know if you are attending on 01507 450 066. We'll probably meet up in Caistor for a short run before hand. Watch this space for more details.

Wednesday 13th June Gliding
Due to the wet weather on 6th the Gliding will continue on the 13th, after 6pm at Pocklington airfield. Those of you that did not get flights will get a chance. Those of you that got in a flight will have the chance of a cut price second flight. (But not me unfortunately - the TR and I will be on the ferry between Plymouth and Santander. That also means no more updates until 26th June or later.)
