Saturday 13th May - Day 8: Morecambe to Lytham-St-Annes

TR3 and friends at Blackpool Tower

TR3 at Blackpool Sea-Life Centre

Following Phil's phone message evening of 13th May: At this point he's spending the night in Lytham-St-Annes. Fund raising in Blackpool, with members of Red Rose, and Wharfedale Groups is the reason for his short distance on this Saturday. So "Hi" to John, Helene and Charlie, Stan and Di, and Chris and Michelle, all from Wharfedale Group, Lynn, Mike and Cath, Mike and June from Red Rose. Special greetings to Mike in the hope that his shaved off beard raises a goodly sum for the Leukamia Research Fund. (see home page for address to send your cheques) It was especially nice that the Dennisons (with Charlie along) could make it to Blackpool since their Stag had let them down in trying to make Phil's start in Bridlington. This must have been particularly disappointing since they were such close friends of Babs.

Lynn brought DUD, their TR6, over to Blackpool from Shaw in order to collect Phil's navigator on this first week's run, Martin Hill. From this point on Phil is on his own. So this night in the Lytham guest house Phil might be expected to be feeling lonely. But it is the way he wanted to do the journey.

Phil is hoping to be away after an early breakfast on the Sunday, and, with luck, to make Harlech tonight.

Need a map to find these places? Sorry I have not built those in yet, but you could go to Multimap.com for a good guide down to street level.
